Staying Healthy

  There are many different ways you can stay healthy. Even by changing the little things in your daily routine can make an improvement in your health.  Staying healthy is not always easy in today's society. Whether you are stress at work or give into the sweat temptations, your health will surely be effected.  Being healthy is very important for yourself, and for the rest of society. 

    
Eating healthy is one of the main keys to staying healthy.  Look at the Food Pyramid Chart, and you will see the visual picture is very simple.  It shows you by size of the column and explains how to properly balance the food groups.  Your body needs different nutrients, vitamins, and minerals to obtain a stable nutrients level.  Just by stopping to eat breakfast in the morning increases your overall daily performance.

   Sleep also is a main factor in overall health.  Without sleep your body and your thoughts are negatively effected. Sleeping is almost equivalent to breathing as said by GHC "It is how we are designed to recuperate from the activities of the day. Proper rest also is needed for your morning elimination cycle to be healthy."Doctors usually request six to eight hours of sleep on a daily basis.  Shutting off the TV, lights, or music can increase your sleeping state.  Also sleep is when your body gains it's strength back. I would just say to buy a good pillow and temperpedic bed because they are awesome and are statistically proven.

   Physical health is what heps your body to function the way it does.  This is why it is crucial to exercises or at least be somewhat active.  You can improve you physical at home with simple excises such as crunches, and sit ups.  Running or Jogging is another way you could improve your physical health.  There are also exercise DVDs or on demand that you can do at home.  If you go to the gym you have the opportunity to use exercise equipment.  Swimming also improves your health and any other sport! Theres always Zumba, and Yoga too.

 The simple ways to increase your health are endless!  You can practice proper hygiene by brushing your teeth two to three times a day and showering daily. You can go to the gym to work out, even walking can increase your health.  Things that drastically effect your health negatively are: smoking, doing drugs, excessively drinking, poor eating habits, and laziness. Maintaining your health now has an effect on how your health will be in the future.  It's easier to put a small effort in to change your daily ways to receive a long term result.  All elements of staying healthy go hand in hand.

  1. Sam, I think this is a great blog. I have been trying better to eat healthier since I've started college. I think that these are some great tips. Another tip for eating healthier is cutting soda out of your diet. I've read that this is a huge factor for people who want to lose weight and you can drop about 3-4 pounds overall. I also am glad that you included sleep as a way to stay healthy. People don't really consider the amount of sleep that they get can have a huge effect on their health.
