The Perks of Being a Wallflower was not only one of the greatest books ever written, but the
movie was a billion times better. It was
based on the bestselling novel written by Stephen Chbosky. This movie will be
sure to make you laugh and want to cry. It has Emma Watson from Harry Potter
and Logan Lerman a rising star. It’s about a young fella named Charlie and how
he starts going to high school. When he first gets there he has absolutely no
friends, but his first friend is his English teacher. Until later on he meets
Patrick, a senior in his woodshop class. In his woodshop class no one really
likes Patrick; they actually call him “nothing”. They officially meet at a football game, shortly
after they go to a party, and he became friends with everyone. That night he
gets welcomed to the group they call the island of misfit toys. He gets called
a wall flower because he sees things and he understands. There is conflict in
the group where he is forced to stay away from them. Until they make up in the end after because
Charlie stands up for Patrick. Then all of Charlie’s friends leave for college,
and then he ends up going into a mental institution because his past comes to
haunts him. There is a lot more that goes on but that was the basic points that
happened. It is a very intense film that
you will enjoy time and time again. The
movie also expresses life lessons such as “we accept the love we think we
deserve.” It’s a very true statement that will speak to you from the heart.
There are lots of quotes from the movie and book that are inspirational another
example of this is “So, I guess we are who we are for alot of reasons. And
maybe we'll never know most of them. But even if we don't have the power to
choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can
still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.” Its rated PG-13, but I
recommend it 100% for all people that can watch it. It is one of my favorites!
