Megan Deasey

My name is Megan, and I am from a little town named Oxford, Massachusetts. Not going to lie, Oxford never has anything going on. All we have is a CVS, McDonald's, Market Basket, Dunkins and N&Js. The only reason besides the obvious I stayed is because I had the best friends a girl could ever ask for. In November of 2009, I got my first job at the new grocery store in town, Market Basket. Actually, me and ALL my best friends did! I'm still there in the year of 2013 but I am now known as the "bread girl" because I take care of the bagels, bread aisle, donuts, frozen desserts, deli and bagel falts, and the pie table. Market Basket has opened quite a few doors for me as far as new relationships; I met many friends, and I even met my boyfriend Will there and we have been together for almost two years now.

I am a freshman student at Nichols College located in Dudley, Massachusetts. I major in criminal justice managment and minor in accounting. When I graduate I plan on going to law school in order to become a lawyer. If for whatever reason I don't make it, I know that I will still have a job I love in the industry that interests me the most.

I have been riding horses since I was five years old. At first I would just go to riding lessons and have fun. When I began getting compliments I would strive for more time to go riding, I even convinced my mom to buy me a horse! My first horse was named Huggy-Bear. Huggy is getting older everyday so I got another one who is a show horse who loves to be showed off, his name is Playboy. He has a playboy bunny brand that everyone stops to stare at. I treat both of them like they're my children.

From my digital apps course, I hope to gain knowledge on computers because I hate them.

A blog that I like and interests me is called The Jungle of Life. I thoroughly enjoy this blog because it is inspirational and is able to give you advice on how to live your life with a lot more merry.  Some topics the author approaches include relationships, anger and your future.

Here is a blog that interests me

NFL Football Blog

This blog is in association with the New York Times. It explains and shows news around the National Football League. It will show anything like injury reports, press conferences, coaches conferences, fantasy sports, playoff contentions, Pro Bowl selections and especially around this time of year now its all about the Super Bowl between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers. This blog is showing everything going around New Orleans which is where the Superbowl will take place. It shows  who will be performing the Halftime show at the Superbowl. This year it will be Beyonce performing at halftime. Of course there will be talks about the commercials being presented during the Super Bowl. Performing for the pre game is going to be the choir at Sandy Hook Elementary School, which I think is beautiful because of the horrific nightmare that occurred there a couple months ago.

From taking this course I hope to learn a lot that will benefit me in the future. This course is hand in hand with my major. Being a teacher means your going to be using power point and all these other computer applications. I hope to learn to use every single one of them to benefit me in the future which can help me with my job. I also hope to gain a good grade in this class. Also hope and want to learn a valuable experience in computers, presentations and any other ways possible

About me

My name is Samantha Belanger. I am from Shrewsbury, MA. A mediam size town in central mass. I have lived here my whole life just in different areas. I am undecleared as of right now but i am looking into majoring in business. I have been working at a retirement home as a waitress for almost three years now. I got this job at first just to pay for gas when i got my license, but after working there for three years i have grown to enjoy it. I get to work with people from my old high school and i get to talk to all the retired people about life and various things. I enjoy hanging out with my friends a lot and doing various interesting fun things around town, but i also like to play sports. I played volleyball all four years of high school and was captian my senior year with one of my best friends. I love to play with different people because you dont need to actually know how to play you can just goof around and have a fun time. I love to watch hockey, even though ive never actually played, i go to all of my brothers game and lets just say im his number one fan. The bruins are my favorite to watch on tv and i have yet to go to a game, but that will be my next goal in life. I have family down in Florida that come to visit every christmas that i love to enjoy spending time with them.

I hope that this class will help me with powerpoint making because when i make mine they look like im still in the fifth grade. I hope to learn more about using excel because i have never really had to use it and i think it would be important to know how to use later on in life. The blog that i found online that had really interested me was Huy's Volleyball blog. When i came across it i first didn't know what it was all about but then i started reading and saw that it was about a coaches journey and the experiences hes going through in his life.
I am from Cranston, Rhode Island and I am a Criminal Justice major. I play Baseball here at Nichols and I have played baseball since I was three years old. I love the beach and my friends. My grandfather played for the New York Yankees in the late 40's early 50's. He was Mickey Mantle's roomate when he played in the minor leagues. I enjoy music very much... I love rap, country, hip hop, jazz, and some metal. I have always been the relationship type of guy. I also love cake. My dad was born in 1948 in Warwick Rhode Island. He is Security officer at Providence College and is also a contractor. He was drafted into the vietnam war in when he was 18 years old. He was there from 1967-69. He told me moved to Madrid, Spain for six months after he came back because he post traumatic stress disorder from the war. He is a great dad who always looks out for me and will do anything for me. But I would also do anything for him because he has done so much for me. My mom was born in 1960 in Cranston, Rhode Island. She works as an office manager at a Cardiology in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. She has worked there for more than 25 years. My parents met at a TGI Fridays in 1987. They dated for two years and got married in 1989.  They've been married for 23 years. It is very healthy and I believe more people should go there and eat. I want to go on a vacation to island of Bora Bora and Paradise Island in the Bahamas. I've always wanted to learn to speak to dolphins. I also plan on getting a pet duck soon!...Named Petey.

My names Candace and I am from Sterling Massachusetts. It's a one red light town, where everyone knows everybody. It is filled with family owned businesses, farms, and a couple  convenience stores. Luckily we have a Dunkin Donuts, if we didn't we would have to drive twenty minutes to get a coffee every morning. The only exciting event that goes on in Sterling is the Sterling Fair. It is hosted at the Sterling airport. No, it isn't like Logan airport in Boston. It is very tiny and quaint, and only has about two airplane hangers, and an old creepy building that supposedly serves ice cream. At the fair there are rides, and when it is all set up it looks like it's straight out of a movie. Although there are rides, the thing that brings in most of the town's folk is the tractor pulls, and all the animals. Sterling is also the home to Davis Farm Land and Mary, from Mary Had a Little Lamb. We also have what seems to be the best ice cream in Massachusetts at Rota Springs.Even though the town is very small I wouldn't of wanted to grow up anywhere else. I have the best of memories over every square foot of Sterling, and I love the fact that i can call it "home."
Thank God for Dunkin's

Sterling Airport
Although it's a small town, I have the best of friends there. They are what made me who I am and I am truly thankful to have such a great group of people in my life. We may have done many stupid things together and made many mistakes but that what makes us close; we lived and we learned together. Whether it was racing down dangerous winding back roads, having uncontrollable bonfires in the gravel pit, or messing around on anything that had wheels, we had fun. Always have and always will. After all, you have to make your own fun when you live in a place like Sterling.

Not only do I go to school full time, but I work about 30 hours, Monday-Friday. I work at Sterling Nursery School with ages that range from 18 months all the way up to about 11. I am a certified preschool teacher, but am only an assistant there. It's fun working at Sterling Nursery School not only because of the children, but it is a family owned business, and I know the family pretty well, and I also went there when I was a little kid. It's a great opportunity to go back to where you started and see what has changed and whats stayed the same. The people I work with are amazing, and it's funny because some were teaching when I went there. Surprisingly, they remember every face that walks through that door and can put a name to all who have attended Sterling Nursery in the time that they have been there. Working there also helps me with my major, which is psychology. I want to go into behavioral psych and working with children you see many different behaviors, trust me.

Cheering used to be a huge part of my. I started cheering at a very young age. I was about 5 when i started. Like almost every other cheerleader, I started out in Pop Warner and then realized that cheering for a football team just wasn't my thing. I was more into competitions. Because of this, at the age of 9 I moved on to competitive cheer leading. It goes all year round, and you don't cheer for a team. You represent a gym and there are a bunch of different levels and age groups.( It is far more difficult than regular cheering, and I really hope no one got offended when I said that I didn't cheer for Nichols because I don't consider that real cheering.) As time went on, I went from one gym to another trying to find one where my competitiveness was shared by everyone. Everywhere I went I always had special connections with my coaches, and always won awards like "coaches award" or captain. I spent a couple years of double rostering (being on two different teams, at the same gym, at once) and then decided it was to much. And when I decided that, that is when I switched gyms for a forth time and I found what I liked to call home at Pro Athletics (Leominster). It was a brand new gym with unstoppable teams and coaches. I had my best cheering experiences with them and fell in love with every team I worked with. I cheered until I injured my back. After my injury it just became to much and had to stop my cheering career in my senior year of high school.

A blog that I would be interested in is The life of an all star cheerleader. Even though I may not cheer anymore I can still relate to it because I went through every single thing on Jess's blog.

While taking this course I hope to learn more about the computer in general. Honestly, I don't really like technology and I especially struggle with computers.

My name is Bobby Lucy and I am from Shirley, Massachusetts.  I am a freshman here at Nichols College with a major in accounting and a minor in finance.  Despite the fact that Nichols was not originally my first school of choice, I am certainly satisfied and happy with my experience here thus far.  Currently, I am involved in a few activities here on campus as a member of the Nichols golf team and  also a student ambassador in admissions.  As an accounting major I am excited to learn more about the excel software.  With the new strides made in technology, much of an accountant's work is done on excel creating spreadsheets.
Kimball Farms
Before I came here to Nichols, I attended St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in Fitchburg, Ma.  During my time at STB, I was a three sport varsity athlete all four years in golf, hockey and baseball.  I also kept myself extremely busy by working two part time jobs throughout my years in high school.  This year marks the fifth year I have worked at both Kimball Farms, specifically as an attendant on the golf range, and P.N. Laggis Co., as a sales clerk.  These two work opportunities have meant a great deal to me as they have given me a chance to meet new people and make connections, while also gaining a whole new set of responsibilities.  Furthermore through working at Kimballs I have had the ability to spend even more time practicing and working on my golf skills, thus allowing me to take my game to the next level.  I look forward to returning to work this summer following the spring semester.
One blog that very much interest me is a The Golf Blog.  I very much enjoy reading and visiting this website because it features all of the latest news stories and information from the PGA Tour.  In addition, this golf blog contains information on different drills the average player can practice at home and tips from the pros themselves!  It even includes product reviews on the latest and great golf apparel and equipment.  For these reasons, The Golf Blog is certainly the perfect site to visit for everything golf related.

Intro Blog

My name is Chad Strattman. I'm a freshman at Nichols college in my second semester, and my major is criminal justice management. My hometown is AshleyFalls MA, it is a very small town, it is hardly even considered a town actually. The town itself is under the township of the surrounding town called Sheffield. The highschool I went to was in Sheffield, Mount Everett Highschool. Being it a small town there isn't a whole lot to do, so me and my friends would normally just drive around and just hangout. Awhile ago there was a funny thing people were doing at fast food drive throughs called cone-ing, It was ordering soft serve ice cream (paying for it of course), and when they go to hand it to you, you grab it by the top instead of the bottom or doing anything weird in general. My friend made small video with me doing it to a couple of places, the reactions are usually pretty good, but he missed the best. (Cone-ing) As far as work goes, I have two jobs that I currently maintain when I go home. One, is working with my father, as he runs his own landscaping business, and I've been working with him for as long as I can remember. The other job, I wait on tables at an assisted living home for the past two and a half years. There I have met some of the craziest and funniest people I know. As for learning from this class, I hope it allows me to use computer applications to their fullest, instead of just knowing the bare minimum. A blog that I found interesting was a blog on Volkswagens, and german cars in general. This blog interests me, because I love cars, I myself have a Jetta, and I love that car. I also just love cars in general, doesn't really matter what make, or year.

About Me

Hi my name is Lindsay Gagnon. I live in Auburn, MA which is right next to Worcester, MA. I have lived in Auburn for all of my life. I graduated from Auburn High last year. During high school I met my best friend Krystyna who is practically my sister. We have been inseparable ever since. I am a freshman at Nichols. I am majoring in Marketing and minoring in Business Communications. I hope to work in Public Relations someday.

I currently have two jobs. My first job is a seasonal teller at Millbury Credit Union. My summers consist of working every Monday thru Saturday during the week. My second job is babysitting for two families. I had this job since I was a sophomore in high school. The kids have become such a huge part of my life and I love them so much.

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling. I love going to Newport, RI and New York City any chance I get. Also, over the summer my aunt took me to Paris as my graduation gift. I have always wanted to go since I was a child. French was also my favorite class in high school and I was so lucky to know enough of the language to get around the city. I’m not fluent in French right now, but hope to be someday. This trip was a dream come true for me and I would like to study abroad there because I fell in love with their culture.

I have never been a computer person. During this class I hope to become better with putting power point presentations together. I would also like to learn more about working with excel because I don’t know that much about it.

One blog that I found interesting was about Paris. It’s called Hip Paris. Since I unfortunately can’t be in Paris all the time, I was able to see new things that were happening around the city. One of my favorite things about Paris was the food, and this blog also has a lot of information about the French cuisine.

Brittany Howe

My name is Brittany Howe and I’m from the Berkshires. I live in an old mill town called North Adams. It was booming in the in the late 18th century until the flame blew out when the great depression hit. It’s only a stone throwing distance from Vermont and a short drive to New York. I currently a waitress atFriendly’s, work at Mt. Holyoke College over the summer, and I just got a job in the dining hall. I am a freshman at Nichols College; not only do I have two majors and a minor; I am treasurer of the criminal justice management club. My majors are Accounting and Criminal Justice Management with a minor in Psychology. I’m going to change my majors and minors around to Accounting and Information Technology Management with a minor in Criminal Justice Management, because I want to do cybercrimes for the FBI. One thing I enjoy doing is painting my nails, not the simple one color, I do things such as hearts, the rebel flag, I have even done Spiderman for one of my friends; I find it to be very relaxing. One thing I want to learn from this class is how to use excel better. I know very minimal of how to use it so I want to get better.

I am a science fanatic; I love chemistry that’s my favorite science topic. I can tell you about a million chemistry, I can even make my own but all the good ones argon. Yes, that was a corny joke. If you are a skeptic like me with topics such as global warming or read why Joe Jackson’s wisdom on cancer is not valid this is the site for you. I mean if you’re not into the whole science thing, there are just interesting topics. I am 99% positive you will find something very interesting. Respectful Insolence is the blog there is even a Hitler Zombie topic. Another cool thing about this blog is that they have a partnership with national geographic. They even make a reference to a YouTube channel called epic rap battles of history where to do people such as Stevejobs vs. Bill Gates. It’s just an amazing blog if you want to learn something new every day or want to past sometime.

Klandesman Blog1

ITM 123 Blog #1

My name is King Landesman and I am a 21 year old college student. I am currently a freshman at Nichols College, in my second semester. I am from New York City. While growing up in New York I split time living with my Mom in Midtown, and my Pops is Soho. I also have spent a lot of time while growing up in the Lower East Side, a sister neighborhood of Soho. Before Nichols I went to four different high schools, School Of The Future, Wilbraham and Monson Academy, The Perkiomen School, and the City-As-School. I graduated from the City-As-School, around two years ago.

(Me and my good friend Kim  senior year at city-as)

(Me and my bro Brandon senior year)

Since graduating I have worked at the Trump Tower Ice Cream Parlor, babysat, and participated in numerous odd jobs, like painting rooms, or moving furniture. For half a year right before attending Nichols I was living with one of my best friends. I moved into his apartment on Eldridge Street in the Lower East Side and gave him four hundred dollars to help with the eight hundred dollar rent. That was probably six of the funnest months of my life. During that time we got into many shenanigans and still was able to pay rent and keep food on the table. The experience came with many life lessons.

(Me, my roommate, his cousin, and our boy outside our apartment)

I am very into fashion. I came to Nichols College because I wanted to start my own fashion company. So far I have made a pair of pants, a baseball shirt, a hoodie, and placed an order for a rain jacket. A blog/website that interests me is Hypebeast. Hypebeast describes itself as an online magazine/blog/shop. There are articles which discuss many topics from trends, to new releases. The website's shop has a vest inventory of items from sweatshirts, to shoes and accessories. A good site if you are into fashion!

Since coming to Nichols College I have become a Marketing Major.

Patrick DeRosa

Me vs. St. Johns senior year
My name is Patrick DeRosa. I am from Lynnfield Massachusettes, a small town right outside of Boston.  My favorite sport is soccer.  I have played soccer my entire life, started when I was about 5.  Playing soccer was definitely my best memory of  school and I am now hoping that will continue. I play defense for Nichols College and am currently in the winter session.  So far,  the soccer here has been my favorite part of the college experience.

The blogging site that interests me the most is Barstool.  This is a site where a man posts his opinions and views of sports matters.  Sometimes it is not even about sports, but they are usually funny.  He has strong opinions, and I enjoy reading his posts.  There is also a section called Barstool boston, which is my area.  In this section, a friend of mine was awarded a barstool make-over, saying he has bad taste in clothes.  I always log on to barstool before I go to bed.  It is a nice site to just scroll through and read all the funny posts.  People can also make comments on them themselves which are also ammusing.  Sometimes, my mind can get lost on barstool, and I will find myself just scrolling through his blogs.

What I am hoping to get out of this class is just a better understanding of technology.  I feel like I am behind my generation when it comes to these things.  I have trouble finding things on the interent or just finding things I want to know.  I am no good at using powerpoint or an of the other extras that are on the computer.  I was not even able to set up the wi-fi on my x-box, but am currently trying to figure that out.  I use I.T. services a good amount here, when I cannot figure something out with my phone or laptop. Hopefully that will change.

Kelly English's Blog

My name is Kelly English I'm from Mansfield, MA. Mansfield is a little town about 45 minutes away from Boston, for those who don't know where it is, it is the next town over from Foxboro, MA (Gillette Stadium). There is not much to do in the town of Mansfield but play sports and hang out with friends. So it's a relief that I'm at college now where it is less boring. I'm a freshman here at Nichols College, where I plan to major in Psychology. I love the idea of working in the Psychology field because I find it to be extremely interesting and also I love helping people with their problems. I attended Mansfield High School where I was a three sport athlete; playing Soccer, Basketball, and Softball all four years. My whole friend group was basically based around the sports I played. My friends and I have been close since fourth grade. I love hanging out with my friends its my favorite thing to do. My brother is one of my best friends, he is awesome and always knows how to make me laugh! My friends mean the world to me, I don't know what I would do without them! I got my first real job when I was a junior in high school, I worked at a tanning salon in the center of my town: Sun Kissed Tans. At Sun Kissed I was a personal assistant to my boss, I worked the front desk, and I opened the salon everyday this summer. Although it's definitely not the hardest job in the world, sitting behind a desk and listening to music, there were times especially during prom where it got chaotic! My life isn't that interesting, sorry guys! :(

I am looking forward to taking Digital Applications this semester! Taking Digital Apps it going to be a very helpful course because it is going to teach me how to do different things on the computer especially with Microsoft Office! Even though we have only had one class so far, I have already learned so much! I never actually knew what blogging was to be honest and now I do! This course will provide me with a deeper knowledge of the computer and the tools I can use on it!

The blog that I found the most credible to me was the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team blog! This blog shows different posts and pictures of the team. Soccer is my favorite sport, so this blog is the most interesting to me! I play soccer here at Nichols, so its really cool to follow the best women's team in the world. To see what is going on in their world is so awesome!

Sam Gandolfo

My name is Samantha Gandolfo.  I'm from a small town in Boston M.A. called Charlestown.  I used to work at the Charlestown Boys and Girls Club, St.Frances De Sales, and at American Eagal Outfitters.  I am currently a student here at Nichols College as a freshman in my second semester. My major is undecided.  I'm still trying out new classes to see what I want to do.  My hobbies would be hanging out with friends, and shopping.  I hope to gain computer efficency from this class.  I also hope that this class will help me be prepared for other classes that may require more advanced work with Microsoft.

A blogging site that most intrests me is about the Bruins.  It intrests me because I am a fan and love watching hockey.  Also I see some of the players on a daily basis, which is pretty awsome to me.  Such as Shawn Thornton and Tyler Segan.  I'm a fan of all the Boston sports team, but to me the most exciting/entertaining would be the Bruins.  I'm also interested in this site because I am interested in the players and what to expect for next game.  For example if a particular player is doing good and has good stats when I watch the game I can notice if what was stated in the blog was true and if the player is playing his best or not.  This blogging website gives diffrent perspectives on the players, scheduals, and keep the fans update.  Which is always useful if you want to have a quick look to see what's new or what is going on with the team as a whole.  I also like that the blog give credit to the players who deserve it and play good. Another reason I like this blog is because one of my old friends recently got drafted for the Bruins so I like to see if theres any new news about him or when he will be playing.  It also has videos, pictures, and trivia questions.  I know that this is a credible source because it's publishing date is up to date, it states the publishers name, and is a city website.  Also all the facts stated by the website (not the bloggers) is accurate and up to date as well.

Mike Spadaro

My name is Mike Spadaro. I am from Milford, Connecticut. I played both Baseball and Football for Jonathan Law High School. Milford is a decently sized town of 62,000 people. In high school, I participated in many school sponsored events, such as the fashion show and sports. I am an only child and I live with both of my parents. I consider one of my bestfriends, Paige, to be the older sister I never had. I am a huge New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. Milford is only an hour and 20 minutes away from New York City if you travel by train. My dog Piccolina, which translates into "Little girl" in Italian, is my 5th dog I've owned. I come from a huge Italian family. My mom is slovak and I joke with her by saying I'm not her child. I am huge practical joker. My dad and I can joke with each other about anything because that is the relationship we share. We both love to sit and watch football all day every Sunday. My nickname from back home was the "Sparrow". The name was given to me by a fellow teammate who commented on how I looked like the bird, the Sparrow. I've played baseball since I was 5 years old. I had never played football up until I was a sophomore in High school. I was a kicker and a punter. I was given #79. That number stuck with me through my entire football career. I am currently focusing on playing baseball here at Nichols. I am a Criminal Justice Major. I've always had a passion to become a Police Officer or a Firefighter. The emergency response field is the career I would like to delve into. I was one of a few baseball players from my high school to have hit more than 10 homeruns throughout my 4 years at Jonathan Law.

I am interested in the College Baseball Blog. I am a huge College Baseball and College Football fan. I feel that College athletics have more meaning for the athletes. They are playing to become the #1 team and possibly win the National Championship. They aren't playing for money, but for prestige. I like following college sports because one day I will see these future stars playing in the big show.

My name is Meghan Dombkowski. I am from Sagaponack, New York. Its a small village that is part of Southampton Town on Long Island. Sagapopnack is located between Bridgehampton and East Hampton. Most people come to Sgagpaonck in the summer because of the location. Sagaponack is located in the middle of "The Hampton" and right by the beaches. I live with my parents, Thomas and Sandra, and my two sisters, Courtney and Samantha. Courtney, just graduated from college last spring, and Samantha, who is my twin, goes to a Community College back home.

I am majoring Sports Management. I LOVE IT HERE!! All the people are so nice and the professors are really nice and they know my name. At Nichols, I play field hockey and lacrosse. This past fall, the field hockey team made it to the Commonwealth Coast Conference. We loss in overtime 1-2 to our rival team, Endicott. I scored in the first half, and it was the only goal we had. My teammate, Emily, scored two times but didn't count. For lacrosse, were starting up this Monday, Feb. 4th.

I hope to learn and gain a lot from this class. One of the most important thing that I am going to gain from this class is learning how to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Also, I will learn how to use a computer a lot better then I did before.

I found this one blog about a person that loves sports, and its mostly about tennis called Great Scot! Murray Wins a Slam!  This blog is mainly about how Andy Murray and how he finally won a Grand Slam event. Britain finally had Grand Slam Champ after 76 years. In this blog, it talks about Murray's career as a pro-tennis player. Many people say that this era of tennis is being played by some of the undeniably players, like Murray. Even though he hasn't won a lot of finals, but he had appear in many of them. Many people may thing that Murray is a brilliant player they have ever seem in their life.
